Food in Penang

Boy howdy do we love Indian food. It is dirt cheap, SO DELICIOUS, and somewhat predictable. None of  those things can be said about Chinese food in Malaysia.

These are some of our favs:
Chicken tandoori
Murtobak (a filled crepe kind of thing with veggies, chicken, egg)
Naan
Roti (a pastry-esque naan. So delicious, flaky, good with curry or honey or anything really. Icecream.)
Tosi (a crepe thing. Thin thin naan? They put things in them or you can get them plain)
Cool Cha (Indian “pizza.” Not pizza at all, but seriously good.)
Indian pancakes (more like a wheat scone in the shape of naan. Fried. Yum)
All curry. Plum, mint, potatoe, vegetable, tomato, white pepper, yogurt.
Briyani (a flavored rice that they will cook the chicken, mutton, etc., in layers with the rice inside an enormous pot.)
Mango Lassi (all day everyday. A yogurt, sugar, and mango puree ambrosia)

Other delicious experiences:
-Cendol – probably the weirdest, most delicious treat is cendol. It is shaved ice with...sweetened herb gummies, sweet and condensed milk, palm sugar, red beans, white beans, icecream, and other random weirdies. All together. SO GOOD!

-We caved one day and spent 69 RM (22 USD) on a Korean BBQ buffet. They had dozens of meats, veggies, sauces, and extras. You grill it yourself at your  table and also have a soup/broth you can add things to. Honest to goodness, it was probably the most delicious meal I have had in my life. To give you an idea, we usually spend $5 per meal, so this was a real splurge!
